Park City Addresses Global Warming
In a town meeting held on Tuesday, January 9th Park City joined with the Park City Mountain Resort to discuss a study that was done to see how global warming could effect our town in the years to come. Although a lot of what was described was very dire the audience was given some ways to personally help stop the global warming trend. Here are a few of the ways you can help in your own home:
- Install compact flourescent light blubs
- Turn lights & appliances (computers) off when not in use
- Unplug electronic devices when you are not using them (plug into power strips w/switches)
- Turn your water heater down to 120 degrees
- Insulate water heaters
- Take shorter showers
- Stop you newspaper when you travel
- Use digital cameras instead of disposable
- Enroll in paperless billing for utilities and credit cards
- Adjust your irrigation system for upcoming weather
- Use the energy saver setting on your dishwasher
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only when they are full
- Use cold or warm wather to wash clothes
There are more items that will be included shortly in another blog. Remember, if we all do a little, we can change a lot!

All great things to do!
Ask your condominium HOA board to set up recycling stations in your condo properties. Tell them that Recycle Utah can help them do this. Everyone should recycle!
Please keep the dialogue going.
