Park City Kids Help Stamp Out Domestic Abuse One Dime at a Time!

Here is a heart warming true story of how even the youngest of our city work to stamp out domestic abuse. If everyone gave just $5 think how much could be accomplished. Obviously these kids are learning the value of giving back.

The Lemonade Stand

This is Amelia and her brother, Barrett, sitting across the street from the 3rd house shown on the Luxury Home Tour selling lemonade for a dime to help the Peace House. Note the sign.

The Tuesday after the tour Amelia and her mom arrived at the Peace House administrative office to deliver a check for $128. The lemonade stand brought in $64 and her parents (Anne and Jeffrey Livingston) matched it. One man threw in a $20 bill.

V Day Monologues Preformance Supports the Peace House - February 10th

Park City Preforming Arts Foundation once again presents a prerformance of “The Vagina Monologues” in support of the Peace House, an organization deducated in stopping domestic violence. The preformance will be held on February 10, 2008 at 7:30 PM at the Eccles Center in Park City. V-Day exists for no other reason than to stop violence against women.

Solar Nails and Spa to Hold Grand Opening to Benefit the Peace House

Solar Nails and Spa will hold it’s Grand Opening on Saturday, September 15th from 8 AM to 8 PM and will donate 50% of all sales for that day to the Peace House of Park City. The Peace House provides shelter, counseling and aid to victiums of domestic violence in the Summit and Wasatch Counties.

First-of-its-Kind Survey Documents Extensive Reach of Domestic Violence Programs

In a single day, domestic violence programs served more than 50,000 adults and children in the United States. This astonishing data comes from the release of Domestic Violence Counts: the National Census of Domestic Violence Services (NCDVS). Conducted by the National Network to End Domestic Violence and health economists at Harvard University, the NCDVS is the most recent data documenting the number of individuals served by domestic violence programs. In addition to providing a national snapshot, the NCDVS report also includes state-level data.

Park City Performing Arts Foundation Presents The Peace House with Check!

Teri Ore presented a check for over $5300 to The Peace House (a local shelter for victims of domestic abuse) after the Park City Performing Arts Foundation produced and presented an encore performance of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” on Feb. 3. Local readers preformed V-Day that is at the same time humorous, poignant and tragic as it raises awareness about violence against women around the world. The Peace House wishes to thank all involved for their generous actions in bringing more information to the public about domestic violence!

RE/MAX Mountain Properties announces Wakeboard to Snow Skiing Same Day Challenge to Benefit The Peace House in Park City.

Hello and Happy Holidays from Peace House, Thank You So Much!! Your generosity, enthusiasm and caring made many families very happy! Our Holiday Helper party was on the 19th and it was a huge success. Almost 100 families were sponsored and gifts were given to 325 children and adults. We had fantastic refreshments provided and served by the Women’s Athenaeum (a Park City service group organized 109 years ago!). Many people made this year’s events such a success – to name a few: The party was held at the Calvary Church on Sidewinder Dive. We thank Pastor Joe Ellis for the warm hospitality. The Shari Levitin Group for allowing us to work in their offices as we organized the gifts. They are our good neighbors that put up with our chaos. Key Bank for being the drop off point for the gift bags. Betsy Ricks for being the sponsor/donor organizer – this is a huge job and she did it with always a smile and kind words. Jim Jensen for being the “Gift Coordinator” and for recruiting his team of Heidi Jensen, Tom Smith and Paul Testa. Hard workers! Caitlin Dalton, a volunteer that worked two long days sorting and bagging gifts for unsponsored families. She is a great Christmas Elf. Happiest of Holidays to All of You,

Park City Board of Realtors Presents to Peace House the Proceeds from the Luxury Home Tour and Auction

The Park City Board of Realtors Philanthropic Foundation raised $90,000 through the Luxury Home Tour and Auction. All of us at Peace House thank you for the thousands of volunteer hours, hard work, caring and support. You make a huge difference in the lives of many women and children who have experienced family violence. Without your help, we would be unable to provide the services needed to help these families start a new life, free of violence.
