Ogden’s comedy showdown - a great success!
I hate the old cliche, “you should have been there”, but you should have been there! Off the Top “competed” against Off the Wall on their own Ogden turf Friday night. There were almost 200 people in the audience in this great little theater, the Plaza Terrace Playhouse. Off the Top members John Burdick, Kim Page & John Spung held their own throughout the competition. The competition was judged by the audience, who let’s face it, were Off the Wall fans true & true. But that didn’t stop Park City’s own Off the Top from shining and showing this Ogden audience a few new games and the audience loved it. In the end, Off the Wall won this friendly competition, but I must say the audience gave Off the Top a very large & receiving “you guys ROCK” applause, to the point that the MC thought it was a tie. But being the fair players that Off the Top members are, they all conceded to the MC that the Ogden troupe were the winners.
The energy was on a high throughout the whole show and Off the Top will probably look for more competitions in the future. Any other troupes out there reading this and want to play? Park City, you are lucky to have such a talented troupe in right there in your home town.
