MEET PARK CITY’S “OFF THE TOP” FOUNDER DEE MACALUSO

Dee Macaluso (Which in Italian means “What color are those pantyhose on your head?) was the baby in a family of five children. She amused the family by being an ongoing sciencedeemacaluso.gif experiment for her brothers and doing cute stuff on occasion. This two-pronged approach to her development created a personality destined to entertain and a facial tic.

She lived to fulfill the telling prophesy of Sister Mary Nara, “I suppose you think you’re funny, young lady.” And indeed, she thought she was, but it would be years before she would figure out how to make any money at it.

After giving birth to two grown daughters (actually they were babies when they came out) Dee embarked on a career in show business. She’s done lots of zany characters in comedy revues that she co-wrote, lots of improvisation, directing, teaching, doing stand-up for years, appearing in TV shows, commercials, films and plays. Whew. It’s a wonder she’s still standing. Oh, wait. She’s sitting down right now…

Dee founded Off The Top because she was looking to flush the funny people in Park City out of the bushes (some are still on probation for that). She is now just another happy member of the troupe after a bloodless coup that took place at her request.

Dee is always looking for new ways to make tons of money. She’ll travel hither and yon (and doesn’t even know where that is) to entertain. Her dream is to make people laugh and cry, make them question the very foundations of their existence and, let’s see, we already mentioned the money…oh yeah, and world peace.
