2007 USQRA (Quad Rugby) Mountain Sectional Playoffs

Come out and cheer on the athletes at the 2007 USQRA Mountain Sectional Playoffs will be held March 23-25, 2007 in Salt Lake City. All games with will be played at the University of Utah’s HPER East Building.

Ability Goes International

February 22, 2007- On February 1, 2007 National Ability Center CEO Meeche White returned from Thailand with her team of seven athletic coaches after spending three weeks on an international adaptive sports exchange funded by the U.S. Department of State Cultural Affairs Division. The team included athletes and therapeutic recreation specialists Muffy Davis, Danny Quintana, Rich St. Dennis, Jake Heilveil, and Ability Center Program Manager Lauren Artesani. The team worked closely with The Redemptorist Foundation for people with disabilities to create community based adaptive recreation programs in Thailand.

NAC Hosts First Hamlet Cup Learn to Race Camp

February 17th - 19th, 2007 the National Ability Center hosted the first Hamlet Cup Learn to Race Camp at the Park City Mountain Resort, sponsored by The Hamlet Companies. The camp was designed for youth with physical disabilities between ages 8-16. The camp covered basic skiing skills, ski racing techniques and tactics, and focused on overall improvement.

Gold Medal Sled Hockey in Park City

On February 16^th, 17^th, and 18^th the National Ability Center will host the first international sled hockey games to be played in Park City at the Park City Ice Arena. Paralympic Bronze winning team USA will battle it out against Torino Champions and rival, team Canada. Sled Hockey is a fast paced, exciting, and highly competitive sport which has been growing in popularity for both spectators and players.

National Ability Center hosts 2007 Annual Huntsman Cup

On JANUARY 5-7, 2007 at Park City Mountain Resort, the National Ability Center will host the 20^th^{Annual Huntsman Cup. The Huntsman Cup is one of the nation’s leading disabled ski-racing events, bringing together a highly competitive field of racers from across the country and world. About 100 competitors are expected to participate and will utilize mono-skis, outriggers and other adapted equipment as they race for the fastest times three events, two of Giant Slalom and one Slalom event.}^{Members of the United States Disabled Ski Team, the strongest disabled ski team in the world, and other experienced racers from the US will give spectators a weekend of intense and exciting ski racing. Members from the Canadian National Team, Australian National Team and other international team representatives are also expected. The Huntsman Cup takes place on the same race course used during the 2002 Winter Olympics for the Giant Slalom events.}
