PCEF Offers Avenues of Support for PCSD Budget Challenge
| The board and staff of the Park City Education Foundation have been paying close attention to the process as the Park City School District and Board of Education work to reconcile a difficult budget.
PCEF’s Board of Directors has committed to making sure the high level of education is upheld in the Park City School District by continuing to pay for important programs and positions that might be cut from the budget. In the past, PCEF has funded programs that meant more teachers and paraprofessionals in the schools; that targeted every level of learner, from gifted and talented to English language learners, and that also enhanced a wide range of subjects: math, English, foreign languages, art, science – even physical education. Some of the programs PCEF will continue to fund include:
An investment in education means a smarter pool of future job applicants, sustained real estate values, a higher quality of life and more consumers with more discretionary money. Everyone benefits: business owners, homeowners, realtors, families, investors, recreation enthusiasts and of course, our children. PCEF committed more than $450,000 in programs to the school district for the 2006-2007 school year and plans to continue to support the district in the 2007-2008 school year. PCEF recognizes it takes more than taxes and real estate growth to pay for the level of excellence expected in our schools. Donations to the Park City Education Foundation directly affect the quality of education in the classroom. It is one of the few ways parents and the community can ensure a high-quality educational career for their students. |
