The following is the winning story from submissions we received in late April. The writer will receive two lawn seats to a 2007 Big Stars, Bright Nights concert of her choice. My best memory is definitely Willie Nelson last September. My husband and I are lifelong Willie fans, and I’ve seen him a dozen times in various venues, my first being “Utah’s Woodstock” at Sundance circa 1978. I think the man is a national treasure.

We were so thrilled to find Willie was coming here, to Deer Valley, and on such a special date - the 25th anniversary of the day we met! Sappy as it sounds, we were one of those “love at first sight” couples.

The last time we went to see Willie and raved and raved, we promised our girls, (ages) 10 and 11, that next time they would get to go, too. Along with my parents, cousins, friends, and all our kids, we had a group of 24 at the Deer Valley show. We enjoyed champagne, a picnic feast and a very special night with our favorite entertainer. What a wonderful anniversary.

I’m getting a lump in my throat just thinking about it.
