Nate Sears of Crazy Parkite Productions Wins Warner Brother Studios “Get Smart” Contest

Long time Park City resident Nate Sears entered the Warner Brothers Studios Get Smart YouTube video contest. The contest rules were that you had to make a 15 second YouTube promotional video for the recently released Get Smart movie based on the 1960’s TV series of the same name. Nate not only entered he won!

By winning the contest he received an all expense trip to Hollywood for the premier of the movie on Monday, June 16th. He walked the “red” carpet with the stars and was invited to the after party where he schmoozed with the likes of Steve Carrell, Anne Hathaway, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Alan Arkin.

For Nate’s 15 second promo, which he wrote, directed and starred in, he dressed in a red agent 86 bathrobe. and used his Don Adam’s voice to talk to the Chief. His imitation is spot on and even though he entered the contest late he came in first.

THE WRITE STUFF Coming to Park City!

Crazy Parkite Production’s short film THE WRITE STUFF has been accepted into the 2008 Park City Film Music Festival, which runs concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival, January 17th through the 27th.

The WRITE STUFF, a children’s movie aimed at kids age 11 and up, is about a 12 year-old who wins a writing contest

RIDING THE BENCH is On Its Way!

A first draft of the previously untitled screenplay of Mark Eaton’s journey into the NBA is finally done. Now using the working title RIDING THE BENCH, the screenplay tells the story of how Mark went from being an auto mechanic to an NBA center and shot blocker in four years.

We’ve made it into the big time! In the Beat section of the February 8, 2007, issue of Sports Illustrated writer Adam Duerson notes that the currently untitled Mark Eaton film project is moving forward. Calling the movie “an oversized underdog flick” (I like that label — thanks, Adam) Duerson asked me who I’d like to see play Mark.
