Crazy Parkite Production’s short film THE WRITE STUFF has been accepted into the 2008 Park City Film Music Festival, which runs concurrently with the Sundance Film Festival, January 17th through the 27th.
The WRITE STUFF, a children’s movie aimed at kids age 11 and up, is about a 12 year-old who wins a writing contest only to be disappointed by what that really means. The film has also appeared in the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, The Rhode Island International Film Festival, and the Eugene International Film Festival. We are especially proud of our screening at the Park City Film Music Festival, since Park City is our home town.
In it’s fifth year, the PCFMF is the first film festival in America that recognizes and honors the contribution of composers and their music to film. Awards are given in the categories of Best Use of Music in a Full-Length Feature Film, Best Use of Music in a Documentary Film, and Best Use of Music in a Short Film, of which THE WRITE STUFF is eligible. The original score for THE WRITE STUFF was written and performed by George Dymalski, who also contributed to the original score of the feature film JUPITER LANDING (2005). George’s most recent accolade is scoring the “Perfectly Utah” commercial campaign for the Utah Film Commission. The three 30-second commercials received an honorable mention at the annual UFC Spot On Commercial Awards in December 2007.
