Shabu Shabu House – A Rare Find

Contributed by Billie Harsch - Posted: November 17th, 2009

I recently went to dinner at a new Park City restaurant. It is located in the old part of Kimball Junction near Loco Lizard. I had no idea what to expect but was so blown away that I think I could eat there every night.

The food is cooked in “Hot Pots” right at your seat. You can choose from a number of meat selections or go veggie if you prefer. You are then given a large plate of various vegetables and a bowl of rice. Once the spicy water in your pot is boiling your start to cook your food.. You eat the food in the rice bowl and have several dipping sauces. The food is unbelievably good! I had the shrimp and Jim had the beef. After you have eaten the main course you put the rest of your veggies into the water that you cooked everything in. In my case I put the leftover rice, veggies and noodles provided as well as the dipping sauces that I had left over into the pot. I can’t even describe how good that soup tasted.

I left Shabu Shabu House so full I could hardly walk but comfortable that I had a really healthy dinner. I plan to eat at Shabu Shabu House as often as possible. It is owned and operated by Brian and Nicki Nuygen. I have know Brian for close to 12 years and am so impressed with all the work both he and his wife have done in creating this small lovely restaurant. Their dedication to food excellence shows.

I recommend Shabu Shabu House to everyone. Tell your friends, Go have the a great healthy at a very reasonable price!!!!!

Tell them that Jim & Billie sent you.

Park Record Reports Salt Lake City International Airport the Best in USA

Contributed by Billie Harsch - Posted: August 21st, 2009

According to the Park Record and Travel+Leisure magazine, Salt Lake City International is the best in America.  US Department of Transportation ratings put more than 90% of arrivals and departures were on time.

This is very good news for Park City tourism since we are a short easy drive the SLC International Airport.

For those thinking of skiing this winter, Northern Utah ski resorts are the most convenient places to go.  Being no more than an hour from the farthest and 30 minutes from most.  With 4 lane highway most of the way.  Salt Lake weather is milder than many other resort drop off points thus making driving to the resort simple and fast.

Remember, Utah has the best Snow on Earth!  Come visit us this winter. And don’t forget for Park City Vacation Home Buying Jim and Billie of Mountain Town Realty Group are your “go to” real estate agents… http://www.unlockparkcity.com.

The 11th Annual Cow Ballet - Come Hear Music and See Cows in TuTus!

Contributed by Billie Harsch - Posted: August 21st, 2009

Okay, we can’t guarantee pigs with wings, but multi-talented cows in tutus, we can! The Cow Ballet is a ridiculously fun way to celebrate the end of the summer and a major fundraiser for Mountain Town Music. This quintessential, wacky event is an opportunity for you, your family, and your business to help keep music alive by attending, volunteering and donating.

Along with food, bar, games, prizes, astonishing dance performances, and of course live music by Muddpuddle, the Cow Ballet also includes an astounding Silent Auction! Your donations make this auction fabulous.

In times of economic limitations, we would like to not only honor the dollar, but also appreciate the great array of talent, interests, experience, and craftmanship that exists in this community. This is why our silent auction is open to donations of services, special opportunities, outings, activities, art and other valuable items and certificates. (ie: yard work, consultations, lessons meals, etc.)

All donations will be presented at the Cow Ballet on September 12th. All donors will receive complimentary admission to the event.

To donate please contact us at cowballet.2009@gmail.com with donation and contact information or call Helen at 435.729.0399. Mountain Town Music volunteers will also be visiting local businesses to generate interest.

As an organization, Mountain Town Music believes in fostering and promoting live music. Together we can create both a great musical network and present over one hundred free live concerts each year for all who live in and visit Park City and Summit County.
