The High West Distillery is planning to open a restaurant, bar and whiskey distillery; Utah’s first legal whiskey distillery since prohibition, in Park City by 2009.
Located in the National Garage, a 100 year-old livery barn and house, on Park Avenue across from the Town Lift, the distillery is currently renovating the National Historic Register property. The developers are working with the Utah Historic Preservation Office and the National Park Service to do the rehabilitation.
When completed, the High West Distillery will make bourbon, scotch, vodka and gin.

The area surrounding the Jordanelle Reservoir offers more new opportunities for new housing than any other area around Park City. The Jordanelle is not only a boating and fishing gold mine but is also only minutes from the Deer Valley Gondola.
The new projects provide golf communities, single family housing, condominiums and residential lots. The golf communities include Tuhaye, Victory Ranch, Talisman, and Hideout Canyons.
All of these provide exceptional views and outstanding amenities. Some of the single family projects include Canyon Trails and Deer Mountain. The condominiums include The Retreat at the Jordanelle, Lodges at Stillwater, Fox Bay, Hailstone and Black Rock Ridge.
The close proximity to the resorts and amenities of Park City, along with the exceptional recreational opportunities on the Jordanelle Reservoir make this an extremely desirable location.

The Park City City Council recently declared May 10-18 as “National Tourism Week” to coincide with the national celebration of the week.
Although May is typically the slowest tourist month in Park City and the middle of “mud season”, it is generally considered the traditional start of summer vacations in America.
The Park City Chamber/Bureau considers every week “Tourism Week” as the Park City economy is based on serving tourists. There were approximately 3.3 million visitor nights in Park City in 2007.
The City Council notes that tourism creates more than 7,117 jobs and provides 43 percent of all jobs in Summit County, and tourist spending is more $460 Million of which generates $14 Million in Taxes.

Although it is still snowing today and more is forecast for the weekend, the resorts in Park City, UT, including Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort, and The Canyons all closed for the season last Sunday, April 13th. The Canyons reported that over 407” of snow fell this season (average is 325”), and at the time that they closed, all the resorts were reporting bases over 128”.
Alta will be open for this coming weekend, Snowbasin has just extended its season through April 27th, and Snowbird will remain open through May (with a good chance of skiing on the 4th of July).
It was an incredible winter season with consistent storms starting at Christmas providing great powder and some of the deepest average snowpack ever. The staffs at each of the resorts are now gearing up for all the activities of summer including free concerts, mountain biking, hiking, alpine disc golf, and numerous other popular events.
